Presentation:
Psychological Safety
In much the same way that employers need to provide physical safety in the workplace, they also need to support psychological safety in the workplace.
Psychological safety in the workplace means that employees and leaders know that it’s okay to not be okay, it’s okay to disagree, and it’s okay to make mistakes. These principles can be applied to any industry and they’re universal, so they can work in workplaces of all kinds.
Our programs use evidence and science to help break down the key performance behaviors that improve psychological safety in the workplace. Dr. Dayna delves into each of thirteen workplace factors, offering a comprehensive examination of these critical elements.
We provide actionable steps for how both your employees and leaders can transform each factor from a potential risk into a robust protective element within your workplace.
By leveraging evidence-based strategies and real-world examples, we empower you to build a healthier, more resilient workspace that enhances well-being and productivity.
Presentation:
Workplace Burnout
In this engaging presentation, Dr. Dayna tackles burnout by offering insight into why it happens and what we can do about it. You’ll learn to combine practical recharging strategies with the science of habit formation as Dr. Dayna offers actionable ways to address burnout.
Burnout poses a significant threat to workplaces as it can lead to decreased productivity, increased absenteeism, and high turnover rates among employees. Studies suggest that burnout affects a substantial portion of the workforce with estimates ranging from 20% to 50% of employees experiencing burnout.
Dr. Dayna will delve into the science of behavior change with you. She’s like the human behavioral Bill Nye the Science Guy, so you know it’ll be fun and engaging. You’ll be introduced to key psychological principles and mechanisms underpinning both habit formation and burnout.
In contrast to typical presentations on burnout, this presentation focuses on the "how" (how to charge our batteries in an already hectic schedule) rather than just the "what" of burnout treatment (for example, “meditate more”). Your team will be introduced to some of the latest empirically-based skills and techniques that they can readily apply to their everyday lives in ways that fit into the little moments. In fact, you can learn how to reclaim time!
As burnout becomes increasingly prevalent across various professions, the conventional focus on “self-care” falls short. In this presentation, Dr. Dayna will present a more comprehensive strategy to address burnout known as the “Burnout Burger.”
Burnout is not just the responsibility of the individual! The individual is squeezed between organizational and cultural factors that play huge roles. You’ll learn the science of burnout and actionable strategies to address the “Burnout Burger” including the role of psychological safety. Your team will gain insight into cutting-edge, evidence-based tips and techniques, empowering individuals, leaders, and workplaces to effectively address burnout and foster the well-being of both the team AND the organization itself.
Presentation:
Work-Life Harmony
Have your cake and eat it, too! Yes, really. Having a crappy work life means you’re more likely to bring home your stress which can put a real strain on relationships.
This presentation addresses the crucial and timely topics of work-life balance and stress management. During the session, Dr. Dayna explores evidence-based and practical strategies for finding harmony between the many roles we all have, including our professional and personal lives.
It doesn’t have to be one or the other - it’s both!
Dr. Dayna dives into the challenges of managing day-to-day obligations and the stress that accompanies them while ensuring that personal needs are not neglected. You’ll be equipped with valuable insights and tools you can put into action right away! These will help you better manage your time and priorities while staying attuned to your individual needs.
Get concrete tips and actionable solutions that can be readily applied in everyday life. Your team will be introduced to some of the latest empirically-based skills and techniques that have been shown to improve well-being and address work-life balance.
The presentation also focuses on the "how" - how to manage competing responsibilities - rather than just the "what" of work-life balance. Ultimately, this presentation will raise your entire organization’s awareness about the importance of work-life balance and will give you the essential skills you need to manage it.
Presentation:
Chronic Disease
In this session, Dr. Dayna explores the pressing issue of chronic disease, including obesity, and its profound impact on both individuals and workplaces. We review the prevalence of chronic diseases in the workforce, issues facing employees living with a chronic disease in the workplace (including bias and stigma) as well as highlight the economic consequences for organizations.
Explore the "wellness formula" for organizations. Composed of the multiple factors influencing employee well-being, including individual resiliency, corporate culture, and organizational policies, this formula helps workplaces become a wonderful support resource for employees living with chronic disease. Crucially, this support benefits not just the employee, but also the organization itself.
Based on expertise from clinical psychology, workplace psychology, and by employing practical, actionable strategies, this presentation demonstrates the pivotal role workplaces can play to empower employees living with chronic disease. All with an eye toward improving organizational success along the way.
Presentation:
Wellness Leadership
Our programs on leadership provide evidence based skills from both workplace psychology and clinical psychology to help leaders:
be more effective in their roles
create psychologically safe workplaces
better support employee mental health and well-being
Topics include leading a hybrid workforce, how leaders can reduce burnout in their staff, and how to be “trauma-informed” as a leader.
Presentation:
Diversity & Inclusion
Although a hot topic in workplaces, many employees and leaders don’t have the tools necessary to improve inclusion in the workplace.
The goal is for everyone to feel more included and for organizations and team-members to celebrate both hidden and visible forms of diversity.
Our speakers have relevant lived experience paired with the latest science of how to improve diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
